MEET DR. THEODORE GIALANELLA

Dr. Gialanella completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. While attending Holy Cross he was a four year varsity letter winner on the football team. After graduating from Holy Cross he attended New York University College of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree.
While at NYU Dr. Gialanella was chosen to participate in both the Faculty Practice and TMJ/Orofacial Pain honors programs. He was awarded The American Academy of Craniofacial Pain Outstanding Student Award for his work. He also participated in an outreach program to Nicaragua. During this trip he was a part of a team that set up a dental clinic and provided dental care to an impoverished community in Chiquilistagua, Nicaragua. Dr. Gialanella also volunteered his time to providing pediatric dental care to underserved areas of Brooklyn and Queens on the Smiling Faces Going Places Mobile Dental Van.
Upon his graduation from NYU, Dr. Gialanella completed a general practice residency program at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. During residency he gained valuable experience in the areas of endodontics, oral surgery, implant dentistry, orthodontics, prosthodontics, periodontal surgery, full mouth rehabilitations, treatment of medically compromised patients, nitrous oxide analgesia, general anesthesia, emergency medicine, TMJ therapy, pediatrics and special needs dentistry.
Dr. Gialanella has completed Level II of the Orognathic Bioesthetic Institute continuing education course of study. This training allows him to better diagnose and treat patients in need of complex dental restorations including patients with TMJ issues and bite scheme problems. He has also completed continuing education courses on Invisalign orthodontic treatment and is Invisalign certified.
Dr. Gialanella is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, New York State Dental Association, Third District Dental Society, Holy Cross Club of Eastern New York and The American Italian Heritage Association. He is also an active member in the Capital District Continuum for Advanced Dental Education, a local study group affiliated with the Seattle Study Club. He also supports several local charities including habitat for Humanity, the Regional Food Bank and The Thomas Patrick Morrison Foundation.
Dr. Gialanella relocated to the Albany area to practice with his brother, an opportunity for which they are both extremely excited. He and his wife Holly currently reside in East Greenbush.
